There are a wide variety of application procedures, including not only aircraft registration and flight application, but also flight plan reporting. Even if you are photographing nature such as mountains or rivers, you will need permission from the owner of the land.

Applying for a flight permit to the government and obtaining permission from the landowner are two different things.

Permission from the government is required to legally fly a drone, and permission from the landowner is required to allow you to fly a drone over their land and take photographs.
In the unlikely event of an accident, if you fly without permission from the landowner, you will be in serious trouble, including compensation for actual damages.
